AAP ke Munna Bhais

Once again AAP is caught in a row of controversies, yet another legal trouble has begun for the party. The Delhi High Court issued a notice to MLA Surender Singh to file a response to a BJP leader’s plea seeking setting aside of his election over alleged wrong declaration of educational qualification in his nomination paper. The HC has given four weeks’ time to the AAP MLA from Delhi Cantt region to file his response.

The court’s order came after BJP leader Karan Singh Tanwar filed an application, saying that Singh had provided wrong information in his election affidavit that he is a graduate from Sikkim University. BJP’s Karan Singh Tevar has already submitted a plea regarding the same in Delhi High Court. He complains that the details given by the leader in the affidavit is wrong and doubtful. Meanwhile, Surender Singh has assured to give a response to the plea in 4-week time to the court and Election Commission. Surender Singh is also an Ashoka Award recipient, who took part in Kargil war, and shot two attackers in 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Earlier, in a Jitendra Tomar’s case, Tilak Manjhi Bhagalpur University filed an affidavit stating AAP’s Delhi Law Minister Jitendra Tomar’s provisional certificate is “fabricated and doesn’t exist in their record.” The university said the roll number cited by Tomar is also incorrect. “As per records, the provisional certificate with serial number 3687 was issued on July 29, 1999 to Sanjay Kumar Chaudhary for BA (honours) in political science. The certificate in Jitender Tomar’s name is a fabricated document and does not exist in the university’s records,” the affidavit filed before Justice Rajiv Shakdher stated. The affidavit came after HC issued notice to the university while hearing a petition alleging Tomar should be removed as minister as he enrolled as an advocate using a “false and bogus” graduation degree.

BJP leader Nand Kishore Garg, who fought the assembly polls against Tomar, also approached the court. Senior advocate Chetan Sharma and Neeraj, appearing for Garg, claimed they have more proof of irregularities against Tomar. A day after the Delhi High Court was informed that Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar’s provisional certificate is “fabricated”, the Aam Aadmi Party leader refuted the allegations of having a fake law degree. The BJP taunted the AAP, saying the Law Minister himself has shown that how law is being toyed with. BJP get a long awaited chance to take revenge, as AAP has also trolled BJP over Smriti Irani’s educational issue, mentioning false information in affidavit stating her educational qualifications. HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s educational qualification hit the arguments on social network, where people were disagreeing with the idea of giving a loser rank of cabinet ministry and secondly an uneducated minister holding a post of HRD Minister. By defending Smriti, BJP went aggressive and cited many examples, such as Bill Gates being less qualified person. I don’t understand, why BJP had dragged Bill Gates of Microsoft when people were asking questions about Smriti Irani’s qualification.

That time, BJP went and glamorized lack of ‘Degree’ education. Forget about Bill Gates because everybody can’t be a Bill Gates. You handover the important portfolio to a non Graduate because you wanted woman face in your cabinet. Bill Gates became Bill Gates because of his hardwork and he owns a company not any ministry. Gates was not a looser, Smriti Irani has failed as politician, people disowned her twice, and she lost two elections. This is disrespect to people’s mandate. When people have bestowed a party clear mandate, then why compromise with key position. By saying “achche din” certainly we do not mean days of good acting but real action on the field. Why to justify her appointment against some Sonia’s education? The debate on education is not the top priority. If we think on the other side of the coin, since she is just Class XII, she can have better zeal to do something for poor and uneducated. Education is certainly important but one should not be criticised or their skills should not be underestimated.

Smriti needs to develop that caliber to deal with such portfolio; question is not about her qualification but also her ability. Don’t forget that Sonia was not a minister in UPA, she was only running the Government including the PM. Smriti Irani’s case is pending in court for inquiry.

However, there is vast difference between Tomar and Irani’s case. Irani just lied about her qualifications whereas Tomar ‘forged and fabricated’ certificates. He also became member of bar council and entered politics and gradually became a law minister with that fabricated Degree. Arvind Kejriwal should ask his law minister to step down unless he comes clean. Tomar should resign as a minister till proven innocent, if AAP is not like BJP.
