When the carping critics were criticising Tamil Nadu off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin he showed his mettle in Antigua and silenced them. His inspiring spell of bowling in the second innings sealed him a place as number one test spot among bowlers in the latest International Cricket Council ICC rankings. The Chennai born tweaker not only regained the top spot in the bowler’s rankings but also consolidated his position as the best all-rounder with a knock on 113 which gave the Indian side an imposing total in the end and helped the side to win by an innings and 92 runs. Ashwin dethrones Yasir Shah and hit a purple patch in his cricketing career. He is an all-rounder in the making and can play a crucial role in the busy season ahead for Team India.
