Mumbai city was reeling under water scarcity and even IPL matches was shifted to other state due to acute water shortage. Now that we have received sufficient rains hence BMC has lifted water cut. The civic body withdrew 20 per cent water cut imposed in the city because of heavy rain for the past few days and the overall water situation is improving. Presently there is enough water to meet the city’s need and we got lion’s share of rain to manage till July 2017. The rainfall in catchment areas is encouraging and there is no need to continue water cut as reservoirs are overflowing. It is time to streamline water supply and supply it to the citizens in a systematic manner.
