US police are investigating a Youtube video, reportedly posted by the gunman who went on a killing spree, shooting to death six people in Santa Barbara in California.
The killer has been identified as a 22-year old Elliot Rodger – son of the famous Hollywood Director Peter Rodger of ‘The Hunger Games’ fame.
According to police, the gunman first stabbed three male room-mates to death at his apartment and then drove his black BMW car through Isla Vista, shooting people at random.
The gunman reportedly killed himself during a shoot-out with police, said Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown.
In a Youtube video posted by the killer, he is seen sitting in his car and talking about the day of ‘retribution’, when he will kill people at streets of Isla Vista to take revenge against humanity.
In the video, the gunman who was said to be suffering with Asperger’s Syndrome, talks about how the life had been unfair to him since last eight years as he had been living a life of ‘rejections and unfulfilled desires’.
The killer complained that the girls were never attracted to him, ‘treating him like a scum’, causing him extreme torture. Lamenting his loneliness and frustration in the video, the gunman regretted that at age 22, he was still a virgin and that he hated all “sexually active men”.
The 22-year old gunman said that the girls looked down upon him, considering him an inferior man, while “throwing themselves at obnoxious men”.
“If I can’t have you, girls, I’ll destroy you… You denied me a happy life and in turn i’ll deny you life. It’s only fair,” the killer is seen saying in the video.
“I will now make you suffer. All girls who rejected me, all you men for living a better living men. I will give you exactly what you deserve – utter annihilation”.
“Humanity is a disgusting depraving species…If I had it in my power, I would reduce everyone of you.. into rivers of blood,” says the killer in the chilling video.
County sheriff Bill Brown said that after stabbing three people in his apartment, the gunman had gone to the sorority house where female students lived and banged at the door.
Then he drove through Isla Vista streets and shot at three females, two out of which were dead.
In a press conference, county sherrif Bill Brown described the shootings Friday night in Isla Vista near the University of California, Santa Barbara, as “the work of a madman”.
Mr. Brown added that the rampage was a “chaotic, rapidly unfolding convoluted incident” with multiple crime scenes.
A lawyer representing Peter Rodger, the gunman’s father issued a statement, saying, “The Rodger family offers their deepest compassion and sympathy to the families involved in this terrible tragedy. We are experiencing the most inconceivable pain, and our hearts go out to everybody involved”.
The statement adds that Mr. Peter Rodger believes that his son was the perpetrator, but added that it was not clear how his son would have accessed a gun.
