Can a Dalit not be a President of our country and oppositions uneasiness at NDA’s candidate Ram Nath Kovind for Presidential polls really surprises one and all. Actually, calling him or any other citizen our country Dalit is an insult to our constitution as everybody is equal in a democracy. Some MP’s came up with ignorant remarks that they had to ‘Google’ to find who he was which actually speaks poor about their own intelligence as Ram Nath Kovind is not just the sitting Governor of Bihar but has also been a Rajya Sabha member several times apart from being a Supreme court lawyer and IPS officer of repute.
Down to earth Ram Nath Kovind one feels is the right choice to become the next President of our country and here is wishing him success in the coming polls to enter the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Let us not divide our country on the basis of caste and religion and the opposition should find other reasons to stall Kovind’s candidature and one of them could be to field an better candidate if they can find to contest against NDA’s choice and acceptable to all.
