Wadia-murderThe special CBI court rejected the application, filed by an accused in the case related to attempt on Bombay Dyeing chairman Nusli Wadia’s life, seeking in-camera deposition of Wadia.

“The court has rejected the application filed by accused Kirit Ambani,” said Special Public Prosecutor Kiran Makasare.

The court had in May last year allowed Wadia to depose in the 23-year-old attempt to murder case.

Wadia in his application had contended that despite being the victim of the crime, his statement was not recorded and he was never contacted by prosecution.

However, Ambani moved an application that Wadia’s deposition should be held in-camera.

Special judge H S Mahajan, while rejecting the in-camera plea, also directed the media not to publish anything “related with business rivalry between Reliance Industries and Bombay Dyeing”.
