Dear-I-&B-Ministry-leadThe Modi government revealed its true colours by not including the words ‘secular’ and ‘socialist’ from the preamble of the Constitution in the advertisement released by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The faces of people belonging to Muslim, Christian and Sikh community are missing from the photographs of the advertisement released to commemorate the nation’s 66th Republic Day on January 26. India is known as secular nation where people belonging to various religions co-exist. At a time when, the nation has been witnessing communal tensions and religious conversions such type of blunders will send a wrong message to the international community. Netizens have already started an online petition condemning the advertisement.

The ad, published in newspapers across the country on January 26, quotes the preamble as: “We, the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC….” The original preamble says: “WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens…”

mohan-bhagwatRSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said, “There is no need to fear. We are in our own country. We are not intruders or infiltrators. This is our own country, our Hindu ‘rashtra’ (nation). A Hindu will not leave his land. No one should be afraid of Hindus rising. Those who are raising their voice against the rise of Hindus are selfish and have vested interests. And if they oppose, there will be confrontation.”

“We must remember that the confrontation is for the ills done to our ancestors. Hindus have been tolerating crimes by Bangladesh or Pakistan. Our God says after 100 crimes, you must not forgive any crime. Till the Hindus are here in India, the country is there. If Hindus doesn’t exist, then everybody living here will be in distress. Hindustan can never be secular it is Hindu Rashtra” added Bhagwat.

sanjay-raut_8Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said, “If any error has occurred in the preamble then it should happen regularly. India was never a secular country. It is a Hindu rashtra.

Dr. Manini Mitra of Mumbai (researcher on Indian Politics) said, “Shiv Sena is almost irrelevant in Maharashtra. In order to revive themselves they are trying to play religious card. Their own logic is illogical. India was never a secular and socialist nation. Both words are misused and abused.”

“India is a Hindu Rashtra where freedom flourishes automatically. The word secular has meaning if there is a religion but Hinduism is a culture not a religion, Hinduism or Aryavrat means freedom of expression, freedom of thoughts and ideologies. I agree that both words should be removed from the Indian politics” added Mr Mitra.

NCP leader Jitendra Awhad said, “It was done deliberately. They are indicating the future. They are portraying their mindset.”

KrishnaFormer Congress MLA from Vile Parle Krishna Hedge said, “The leaders in BJP are not even listening to the Prime Minister. Some leaders like Sakshi Maharaj and Sadhvi Prachi have issued controversial statements which can create law order problems in the country. This is basically a part of their agenda.”

baba-siddiqueCongress leader Baba Siddique said, “We can see their true colours by what RSS, Bajrang Dal do by promoting the ‘ghar wapsi’ campaigns. The PM has remained mum about these issues. There is some hidden agenda in all this. Also Obama in his speech had urged Indians to respect religious freedom.”

Abu-Asim-Azmi“This is a deliberate move as they as trying to establish the ‘Hindu rashtra’. There is some hidden agenda behind all this” said Samajwadi Party President Abu Asim Azmi.
