Johnny Depp earned the top spot on Forbes’ annual ‘Most Overpaid Actors’ list for two years in a row.

Thanks to recent ticket booth disappointments, the 53-year-old star is this year’s most overpaid actor. His last three movies returned just 2.80 dollars at the box office for every one dollar he was paid on them, writes Forbes.

‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ hit theatres in May just when a judge issued a restraining order against its star, after wife Amber Heard alleged that he physically and verbally abused her.

Depending on the calculations based on the last three films each actor starred in before June 2016 excluding animated films, Will Smith came in second place by returning 5 dollars for every one dollar he was paid thanks to lower-performing movies including ‘Focus’ and ‘Concussion’.

Channing Tatum wound up third on the list with 6 dollars for every dollar he was paid.

Even though ‘Magic Mike XXL’ performed solidly with 120 million dollars in worldwide grosses on a 15 million dollars budget, his number was held down by ‘Jupiter Ascending’ with worldwide grosses of 183 million dollars on a 175 million dollars budget.

Adam Sandler, who topped the 2013 and 2014 Forbes’ overpaid actor lists, was sixth. Julia Roberts is the only woman on the list, landing in ninth place.
