Modi govt’s plan to woo minorities

We wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi all success in 2015 but it will only happen if we begin to work. We have seen all your hats, dresses and shoes in 2014 and now we want some real work on the ground. The Modi government is planning to rope in Amitabh Bachchan to woo the minorities. The ad campaign would focus on secular image of Modi government and would stress on the need to rise above caste and religious lines to ensure inclusive development of India. In this matter Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh appears to emerge better on account of his reported multi-tasking abilities.

The Modi government has managed to control inflation due to fall in oil prices and the Congress party continues to persist with the dumb Rahul Gandhi. But Sir! The nation has to move ahead which can only happen when we focus on work. There is no need to introduce the anti-conversion bill as the government can ask the RSS and VHP shun “ghar wapsi” and concentrate more on “ghar ki samradhi”. Deception may work a little longer politically but it is harmful for the nation’s progress.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar is performing well in giving legitimacy to middle men (representatives) in defense purchases because they perform liasoning work between ministry and foreign manufacturers. Our officers in the ministry like to deal with them for understanding things better and also for receiving gifts like calendar, pen and diary. Representatives must exercise restraint and refrain from doling out cash or jobs to the dependents of officers in their parent company. “Choti moti gift, chalta hai”. Parrikar has also done well in easing curbs on foreign manufacturers willing to invest in India.

We cannot manufacture equipment ourselves and impose restrictions on foreign companies too which is unjustified. Most of us aspire to become an IAS or an MBA and very few are interested in working in factories and achieve proficiency in manufacturing. The entrepreneurs will love to own big land but not utilize it for manufacturing machines and systems. The government should instead nominate Salman Khan for wooing minorities. The government must undertake the cleanliness drive with the assistance of sweepers instead of nominating celebrities for the job who are more interested in gaining publicity. H N Bahuguna had performed a good job as the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh until Amitabh went there and caused his downfall.
