Mohan Bhagwat asks Hindus to stand united for a strong nation

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has exhorted the Hindus to stand united by setting aside their differences in order to make the country strong.

“Bharat will become strong (samarth) only when Hindus stand for the country by keeping aside all their differences for the sake of the nation,” Bhagwat said yesterday while addressing ‘Narmada Hindu Sangam’ at the historic Maheshwar town on the banks of Narmada river here.

“India was earlier treated as world guru and in future also it will be known as the world guru. The US has money and business power, China has military power, but India is the only country in the world which has everything,” he said.

He expressed concern over some practices like preventing a section of society from entering temples and fetching water.

“Though our deities are different, we believe in one God and treat the world as a global village (Vasudev Kutumbakam) and now we have to live for the country,” he said.

There are diversities in the country, languages are different, the way of living is also different but Hindus have always stood for serving the society and its welfare.

The Hindus should not be considered as weak, Bhagwat said adding that programmes like the ‘Hindu Sangam’ are being organised to strengthen the community.

A large number of saints, RSS workers and local residents took part in the event.
