Muddle in the middle

As the Lodha committee recommendations are in the minds of the new president, he is willing to follow the recommendations and not running away from the responsibilities as the Chief. We all know that how effectively our board is functioning.  It is time to mend our ways to have more meaningful way of keeping a watch on the gentleman’s game and uplift the standard in India equal to world standards.  An overhaul about the functioning of the Board is on the cards. We look at the development from the grass root level.  As an ardent fan of the game and cricket coach by profession I look upon the game to take a new turn in coaching methods, especially development of fast bowlers in India. We lag behind in this department of the game and always depend on spin as the main weapon and that is not yielding results when we tour overseas. In the official functioning of the board we need to have drastic changes from team selection to appointment of test class umpires. Bits and pieces players are getting precedence and the playing knocking the doors for a long time are deserted all the time. Again, the official power is misused and corruption is taking front seat in Board affairs. IPL matches saw mass fixing charges against players and officials and that brought disrepute to the game.  We wish to see the Board coming under RTI and there is no muddle in the middle on and off the field.
