Thane Civil Hospital witnessed a new born baby being stolen from the hospital ward. In Mumbai and suburbs there are people looking for stealing babies and thereby create fear among the mothers. The incident took place within 6 hours of the baby’s birth and now some clue will have to be obtained from the CCTV camera recording. Such incidents are taking place on a regular basis and there is no security for the patients inside a hospital. Having seen such happenings in the recent past, the hospital authorities should have forethought and make the security foolproof and see that the security measures are monitored on regular basis. The joy of new born baby boy was short lived after the gruesome incident in the early morning hours. The mother of the new born was cheated under the pretext of vaccination drama and the baby was stolen. Thane police plunged into action by filing a case and made an all out attempt to bring back the baby. It is a lesson for all the maternity hospitals and other hospitals to beef up security and see that CCTV camera function with any hindrance to avoid frequent happening of stealing the young from the hospital under the guise of posing as a lady attendant. It is indeed an eye opener.
