Hitting out at the Congress for critiquing the Centre over India’s current policy with Pakistan over the Pathankot attack, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said that the government was quite capable of handling national security matter and added that the grand old party should refrain from becoming ‘experts’ on the issue.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi“Be it Congress or anyone, they don’t need to become an expert and international commentators when it comes to national security. Our hands which holds the responsibility of national security is firm and experienced. We know how to fight those who try to hurt the country,” said Naqvi.

Talking about taking the next step with Pakistan over the Pathankot attack, he assured that India would take action keeping the ‘pride of the nation’ in mind.

Meanwhile, the Congress attacked the Centre for not bringing Pakistan’s role in the Pathankot attack onto the international arena strongly enough and also for not being ‘transparent’ with the opposition on the matter.

“The biggest mistake by the Modi Government was not taking the opposition into consideration. They should have shared the information with us. They have not made things transparent which is why Pakistan has failed to act on the evidence and this is a failure on the part of the Indian government,” said Congress leader PC Chacko.

Reports have emerged that Pakistan has rejected the evidence provided by India in the Pathankot attack and also denied the credibility of the proofs.
