Congress on Friday announced that the party will stage protest at Jantar Mantar against Centre’s ordinance on Land Acquisition Bill.
The announcement was made by party spokesman in which it was told that party vice president Rahul Gandhi will participate.
On the question of whether the Congress would participate in the protest by Anna Hazare on February 23, the party said that the Gandhian can join their own agitation against the ordinance at Jantar Mantar.
Hazare will also participate in a two-day agitation at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on February 23 and 24 to demand withdrawal of the anti-farmer amendments to the Land Acquisition Act, 2013.
The veteran Gandhian activist had earlier warned that an indefinite agitation would be launched at Ramlila Maidan if the Union government fails to retract the concerned ordinance.
