Retail inflation rose to a 4-month high of 5.4 per cent in June as compared to the 5.01 per cent in May.
According to government data released Monday, the consumer price index (CPI) based inflation for the month of June stood at 5.40 per cent.
In the month of April 2015, CPI inflation stood at 4.87 per cent.
Retail food inflation rose to 5.48 per cent in June from 4.80 per cent in May.
As per the data released, the vegetable price inflation for June stood at 5.37 per cent compared to the 4.64 per cent in May while the cereal and products inflation stood at 1.68 per cent.
Core CPI inflation rose to 4.85 per cent while clothing and footwear inflation rose to 6.34 per cent from the 6.12 per cent in May, the data showed.
Urban inflation also rose to 6.07 per cent in the month of June as compared to the 5.52 per cent in May.
