Sardar of wits quits

Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation from Rajya Sabha won’t affect BJP he is a spent force in politics. He can outfit others with his wits and not with his political acumen. In a big party like BJP the sudden decision of Sidhu going AAP way or any other party is not a matter of concern. Even in BJP he was a liability and his wings were cut and that is the reason for his quitting. He vacated his Jalandhar seat in favour of Arun Jaitely during 2014 Parliamentary elections and since then his relationship with party high command had strained. Despite this fact he was nominated to Rajya Sabha to save his face and now he showed his tantrums as he was doing in the field of play in cricket. It was notable that Sidhu quit Indian cricket team half way through the English tour under the leadership of Mohammad Azharuddin. For the past few months, Sidhu had been sulking because of BJP’s reluctance to consider his demand for snapping the alliance with Akalis. Interestingly though he had become a BJP Parliamentarian, Sidhu had refused to campaign for the party in Punjab till it sever ties with Badals. He also indicated that his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, a sitting BJP MLA in Punjab will not contest Assembly election. Thus the friction led to his quitting.
