Maharasthra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujal had sent a legal notice to Bharatiya Janata party leader KiritSomaiya for maligning his image in public forum. In the notice, Bhujbal mentioned, “Somaiya should withdraw the allegations made against me and my relatives. He should unconditionally tender an apology for defaming my name tomisguide people. A defamation case will be registered under the Indian Penal code and he will have to pay compensation of 100 crores for defaming my name.”
In the notice,Bhujbal mentioned that KiritSomiaya had conducted a Press Conference at Marathi PatrakarSangh on 21st and 28th February. He had given an interview to one of the Marathi newspaper where Somaiya had made false allegations of irregularitiesin the construction of Maharashtra Sadan at Delhi, Slum Rehabilitation scheme. The allegations made by him are baseless in an attempt to misguide people.Bhujbal also clarified that the construction work of Maharashtra Sadan at Delhi and Slum Rehabilitation scheme was undertaken by following guidelines.
Bhujbal said that Somaiya is making such allegations to tarnish his reputation since LokSabha election is just round the corner.He also demanded an unconditional apology from Somaiyawithin 48 hours failing which strict action will be taken against him.
