Shreyas Iyer played a memorable knock for India A side by scoring an unbeaten double century against the touring Australian side, He played a stylish knock and is awaiting a call for inclusion in the test side. Like Virendra Sehwag, Shreyas Iyer made a mark in an effective way. The silver lining in his batting is the way he takes the fight to enemy’s camp. Iyer has come of age and he is the mainstay of Mumbai batting. With his current form he is an automatic choice in the Indian side and can replace the out of form batsman in the third test against the Australian side.

The youngster has grown up in confidence and skills and that was displayed in league games and with his big match temperament he is a force to reckon with for any side. He was playing well in IPL as well in the last season. Catch them young is true for sports in general and cricket in particular. It is high time that we infuse young blood into the side to make the team a fit fielding unit. Shreyas stood like an oasis on the desert against the formidable Australian side and played a forceful knock and made his presence felt in the squad. He is an asset to the Indian side. Success story of Shreyas Iyer is a sound warning to the selectors to pick him in the playing XI and provide him exposure at the International level.

That was to be the last stroke to emanate from the Mumbai batsman Shreyas strode blade as he rode on his luck in front of a capacity crowd, and throughout the evening when he was always a half-step ahead of galloping Australians. Each stroke played under immense pressure, with the weight of the world on his shoulders, with India A just falling short of visitors total. Iyer hit 27 fours and 7 sixes to mark his big innings and showed the cricketing world that he is up to much bigger challenges in the days to come. A DY Patil product, he grown up in stature and came out successful in a side dominated by the locals and captained by Tare.  Iyer was confidence personified as he dread into the wicket at a time when early fall of wickets troubled his side. He made a match of it and scored runs at will and reduced the margin of lead of Australians to 66.

He stroked rather freely in Virat Kohli’s way and made a match of it in style. Iyer went from strength to strength and worked hard and stood like an oasis on the desert.  He is the future star of Indian cricket and there is no doubt about it. Pipe opener with Australian side paved way for Shreyas Iyer to show his class and it is now up to the selectors to give him the much needed break as early as possible. Catch them young is true and Shreyas Iyer would like to face the likes of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood and show up his arrival in test match cricket.
