West Indian fast bowler Kemar Roach has escaped with minor head injuries after crashing his BMW sedan in Barbados on Saturday morning, according to reports. The 25-year-old Roach, once the fastest bowler in the world, lost control over his car on a slippery road just outside Bridgetown.

According to local media, Roach’s car flipped several times after he lost control near traffic lights. Two wheels of the car were broken off. Roach sustained head injuries but appeared stable when he was taken away by an ambulance.

A few hours later, Roach (@KemarAJR) tweeted his condition saying: “Sorry To Scare My Friends, Family And Fans But I’m Straight! Thanks For The Love! #BlessUp.” The bowler is now recovering well. Police are investigating the reasons for the nasty crash.

Roach, who has played for Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League, has played 23 Tests, 61 ODIs and 11 T20 internationals. His last international match for the West Indies was a ODI against Pakistan at Gros Islet in July, 2013.
