Mother of all transfers in football field give us an impression there is more money in a field sport like football rather than in Tennis and cricket. Neymar bid goodbye to Barcelona team and joins Paris Saint – Germain in a sensational change.  He will be getting 918mn British Pounds as transfer fee from Barcelona to PSG.  This makes him the costliest player in the world. Neymar joined Barcelona in the year 2013 and has hit 105 goals for the Spanish club in his illustrious career. In the process he guided his team to two league titles, three cups, three Copas del Rey and a Champions League crown. It is indeed an enviable record for football player in nearly five years.

Neymar’s best goal scoring season came in 2014-15 when he netted 39 times in helping Barca to the treble under Luis Enrique. This created a vacuum in the ranks of Barcelona which sports both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in their team. Barcelona is scouting for a potential replacement for the last few months with the big names like Liverpool’s Philippe Coutine and Juventus followed by forward Paulo Dybala in the race. The impression created by Neymar for Barca in the last five years contract was really outstanding and difficult to surpass in the big league of football.

Big deals in football is very common but this time a Barcelona player got a big boost and it has become the mother of all transfers. Neymar was part of Barcelona’s MSN strike force, which also featured Lionel Messi and Luis Surez alongside Neymar. He played 186 matches fro Barca in all competitions since joining in 2013-14.  Only Messi (204) and Busquets (196) played more matches than him. Neymar was rubbed on wrong side by referees as he recorded 431 fouls, the most in top five European leagues since he joined Barca. Paul Pogba touched Euro 105 mn for his transfer from Juventus to Man United in 2016.  Gareth Bale touched Euro 100 mn for his transfer from Spurs to Read Madrid in 2013. Both Ronaldo and Higuain were picked for less than Euro 100 million in the last transfers. Neymar’s contract is the highest so far in the sporting field.
