The body of 20-year-old boy Mahendra Gujjar with both his hands cut by a sharp weapon was found in the jungle of Makarwali region of Ajmer on Tuesday morning.

Christian Ganj police registered a case against unknown murderers and sent the body for postmortem.

Mahendra worked with his family selling dairy products and was missing since previous evening. He used to take cattle to the jungle for grazing but did not return last night.

A villager informed police on Tuesday that a body was lying in the ditch and later it was identified as Mahendra’s. “His both hands were cut and had serious injuries on neck and also on stomach as if someone had pierced them with a sharp-edged weapon,” said police.

Father of the deceased Ganga Ram Gujjar identified the body and also stated that two bracelets of silver which Mahendra used to wear on his wrists were missing and also a locket of their community was missing from his neck.

Police registered a case of murder and started investigation. Preliminary investigation suggests it is a murder for loot as hands were cut to take away the sliver bracelets. We are looking into every angle of the case,” added police.
