Zaki-ur-Rehman-Lakhvi-leadMumbai attacks mastermind and Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi has challenged his two-day physical remand in a kidnapping case in a district and sessions court in Islamabad. His appeal comes a day after a Paksitani court detained him by slapping charges of kidnapping on him.

There have been continuous flip-flops from Pakistan over his release in the recent days. The Islamabad High Court court had approved his release earlier this week only to be remanded yet again into custody for abducting a man named Anwar six and a half years ago.

Lakhvi’s counsel Advocate Rizwan Abbasi had petitioned in the court on Wednesday claiming that a false FIR had been registered against his client due to pressure from India. He added that there was no basis on which the case had been lodged.

Earlier, his release was ordered on December 18 by an anti-terror court in Pakistan claiming that there was no evidence found against him in the Mumbai blast case. Following massive uproar from India, he was detained under a public order law.
