Indian fishing boats, which had been detained by Pakistan for crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), are scheduled to arrive at Porbandar later on Monday.

The 57 vessels sailed from the Pakistan coast on March 21, reaching the IMBL the following day.

A team of towing boats, fishermen and Gujarat Government officials had sailed from Porbandar to the designated IMBL site to receive the vessels. These boats were towed by Pakistani trawlers to the designated location under the supervision of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.

The whole operation is being supervised by Indian Coast Guard ships Rajratan and Vijit.

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) arranged the movement of an eight-member team from Gujarat to Pakistan for the inspection, repair and return of the boats.

The Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, the Indian Coast Guard, the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency had several rounds of discussions regarding the returning of the boats to India.

The MHA also provided Rs 1.28 crore for the repair and return of the boats.
