A woman and her teenage paramour have been arrested for allegedly killing her husband in Hyderabad.
Hayathnagar police nabbed the woman, Pravallika Mendem, 25, and her nephew while transporting the body of her husband on a two-wheeler.
Pravallika had a row with her husband Pullaiah Mendem during which she banged his head on the wall and hit him in the groin. Her 16-year-old nephew, a student of Class X, with whom Pravallika is allegedly having an affair, joined her in the attack.
Once Pullaiah was dead, the duo borrowed a motorbike from a neighbour and set off with the body. On their way, they were accosted by two beat constables, who suspected foul play from the way the body was propped against the boy, with its feet dangling close to the ground.
They saw three people riding the bike where her husband’s head was hanging loosely on her nephew’s shoulders. constables tries to stop the bike as they saw three persons on it, but when the vehicle did not stop, they chased them for 2 km and then finally caught them.
The woman and her nephew initially claimed that the man, Pullaiah Mendem, was already dead when they discovered the body, on the roadside after he left the house to get drunk.
During interrogation, both confessed to have killed him. The husband and wife moved to Hyderabad from their village Kodada, Nalgonda, just few weeks ago.
