One of the background dancers of the ‘ABCD 2’ team – Nilesh Nirbhavane – was arrested by Pant Nagar Police on June 26, for allegedly raping a 14-year-old mentally challenged girl several times.
Reports suggest that the girl’s teacher noticed a drastic change in her student’s behaviour. Eventually, she came to know that the girl was being sexually abused by three boys. The teacher informed the girl’s parents and a complaint was registered with the police thereafter.
An officer from the Pant Nagar Police station reportedly said that the girl was raped by Nirbhavane and his friend. They would take her to isolated places or to public toilets and then rape her.
When Nirbhavane was summoned for questioning, he confessed to committing the crime. Two boys have been arrested by the Police while the third one’s role in the crime is yet to be ascertained.
