A teleserial actress was allegedly molested, and her mobile phone was snatched, near her home in the southern fringes of Kolkata in the early hours of Monday.
According to the complaint lodged with the police by the 34-year-old actress, the man grabbed her from behind and snatched away her mobile when she was entering the narrow lane outside her home at Netaji Nagar at around 2 am.
Initially, the police claimed it was a case of snatching but after much persistence by the woman booked a complaint of molestation last night.
“We have launched an investigation and are on the lookout for the accused,” a Kolkata Police official said.
