Nearly 5 months after UP minister Azam Khan’s buffulaoes were stolen and he did his best to ensure that police find them, the Delhi police are now hunting for thieves who reportedly stole two ‘jackfruits’ from the bungalow of Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament from Bihar’s Jehanabad Mahendra Prasad, located on Tughlaq Road in Delhi.
What came out as a shocking part of the incident is that no precious element from home was stolen but two Jackfruits from the garden of MP.
A Police team along with a team from finger print bureau section immediately arrived at the spot. A senior police official said that they were informed about the theft by Prasad’s personal assistant and the police after reaching the bungalow police found out that two Jackfruits from a tree had been missing.
According to reports, the MP found out in the morning that the tree only has 7 Jackfruits, while it had 9 in the night.
The police have registered a case of theft and an investigation has also been launched. A team of police with more than 10 members inspected the garden and took finger prints. The police official added that they have found some foot prints that are about six inches in length. The police have sent the prints for test.
He added that a robbery in such manner has raised serious questions about the security of the bungalow. Police is now waiting for the forensic report and till then the security guards, servants and drivers are being questioned.
The CCTV footages will also be examined to nab the thieves.
Mahendra Prasad was an RJD MP of the Upper House. King Mahendra clandestinely funded the Janata Dal (United) in the Assembly election campaign in 2005. Immediately after Nitish Kumar came to power, he was nominated for the Rajya Sabha in March 2006.
