A woman barged into a homeopathic medicine practitioner’s clinic, where she was once employed, and slapped a doctor 70 times in 30 minutes.
It was recorded on CCTV camera installed at the clinic and the video has gone viral. The video recording has been submitted for further police investigations.
The incident happened on October 28 evening when resident of HIG colony, Dr. Arpit Chopra was sitting at his clinic when the accused woman Vasundhara Sharma barged in abusing the doctor, thrashed him severely in front of police and tore-off his shirt.
The matter had landed at the Tukoganj police station but the doctor lodged the complaint officially 10 days later on November 7. Dr Chopra in his complaint said that the woman had come to his clinic in the year 2012 for three months training. “The woman tried getting close to me after which I asked her to leave training. However, she kept threatening me over the phone. I have reported the matter to Tukoganj police station and women commission as well,” stated Dr Chopra in his complaint.
In contrary, the woman’s father had lodged cross FIR against the doctors at MIG police station stating that the doctor on October 16, 2011 had made physical relationship with her on pretext of getting married.
Stating the reason of delay in reporting the thrashing incident to the police, Dr. Chopra in his statements to the police said that he was severely beaten and had received ear drum injuries. The doctor has submitted medico-legal case slip to the police in this regard.
Superintendent of police (East), OP Tripathi said, “A woman has lodged sexual harassment case against a doctor. Earlier, doctor too had registered a complaint against the woman. We will investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action whosoever is found guilty.”
