Renowned Telugu actor Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday in connection with the tragic death of a woman during the premiere of his latest blockbuster, Pushpa 2: The Rise. The incident also left the woman’s eight-year-old son hospitalized.
Police detained the actor from his residence under tight security and escorted him to the Chikkadpally police station. This development comes after chaos erupted at Sandhya Theatre on December 4, when a massive crowd of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the star.
The city police have filed charges against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the family of the deceased woman, aged 35.
In response to the legal action, Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court on December 11, seeking to quash the FIR against him. The case has drawn significant public attention, raising questions about crowd management and accountability at high-profile events.
This arrest casts a shadow over the promotional tour of Pushpa 2 and has ignited a debate on the responsibility of celebrities and event organizers for fan safety during mass gatherings.
