The Anti Corruption Bureau seized huge disproportionate assets from the house of information commissioner Deepak Deshpande on late Saturday. ACB sources said that the ACB carried raids on Desphande’s houses in Mumbai and Aurangabad and found he had amassed huge assets. ACB also said Deshpande has properties in Mumbai, Thane, Pune and Aurangabad.
Preliminary investigations points out he also has two shops, five acres of land in Pune and Aurangabad, one and half kgs of gold, 27 kgs of silver, bonds and fixed deposits of Rs 2.5 crores and 6000 shares in various investments schemes. “It’s a continuous process and we are still recounting the seizures and will be able to reveal his total assets by Sunday afternoon,” said additional commissioner of police (ACB) Kishore Jadhav.
ACB said Deshpande`s name had cropped up in the ACB investigations in both the cases in which he has been booked along with Chaggan Bhujbal in alleged irregularities cases. Maharashtra anti-corruption bureau, had registered an FIR against former public works department minister and NCP strongman Chhagan Bhujbal, his son Pankaj Bhujbal, MLA and nephew former MP Sameer Bhujbal, and 14 others for alleged irregularities in awarding the project for construction of New Delhi’s new Maharashtra Sadan, the state guest house.
