ManishAam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Monday and told him that the delay in dissolving Assembly in Delhi is encouraging horse-trading.

Shortly after the meeting, he tweeted that the L-G will now call BJP for discussion and the party to show the required strength needed if they claim to form the government.

Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: Met LG. Had good discussions. He will now invite BJP for discussions. If BJP claims they can form govt, LG will ask them to show nos.
He added that AAP MLAs met Jung and showed their support for the party.

After the meeting, AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that no party is ready to support the other for govenment formation.

He also said that L-G had assured them that he will hold a discussion with all parties including BJP and will then send a detailed report to the President.

Kejriwal’s meeting with Jung comes a day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced that it is ready to form government if invited by the Lt Governor and for contesting fresh Assembly polls.

Kejriwal had sought an appointment with Jung last week alleging that the L-G was going to invite BJP to form a government in the state despite the party lacking the required numbers needed to form the government.

“Sources-Despite public outcry, LG likely 2 invite BJP 2 form govt 2day. BJP will accept it….. ,” he tweeted on July 17.

Kejriwal-led AAP won the Delhi elections last year with a thumping victory. He later quit as the chief minister on February 14 after being in power for 49 days.
