Three persons, including a woman, received bullet injuries when a youth allegedly opened fire indiscriminately outside a popular discotheque after he and his three friends were asked to leave the nightclub at Chandigarh.

The entire incident was recorded by a CCTV camera, which shows a man opening fire outside the club in sector 8, police said today.

The four accused have been identified and they belong to Ferozepur district of Punjab, police said, adding that no arrests have been made yet in this case.

Cases under various sections including 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC have been registered against the accused.

The accused had gone to the club on Sunday night where they got into an argument after the club staff refused them more drinks, police said.

They then asked if they could smoke on the dance floor but were refused to do so by the club staff.

They were asked to leave but did not budge. The bouncers then removed them from the club following which a scuffle ensued at around 2 AM between the bouncers and the accused, they said.

Enraged over being thrown out of the club, one of the accused took out a pistol from his car parked outside the club by breaking a window pane and allegedly opened fire indiscriminately at bouncers, police said.

Nine shots were fired from the pistol in which three persons, including a woman, received bullet injuries.

The injured were identified as Akashdeep of Nayagaon, Shilpa, a resident of Delhi and Deep Kumar, employee of the nightclub, police said.

The accused, which had misplaced their car keys, fled from the scene after opening fire outside the club. They even took the number plates of the car along with themselves, police said.
