A two-member committee was formed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to look into the payments made by the previous regime in 2014 to a foreign investigating agency.
Ajay Shirke and G Ganga Raju will investigate the ‘snoopgate’ controversy wherein the Indian board paid $900,000 to an overseas agency.
The payment was made when Shivlal Yadav was the interim president of BCCI.
Niranjan Shah of the Saurashtra Cricket Association and a former BCCI vice-president had raised this issue during AGM in Mumbai last week.
“There is a payment that has been made to an agency. We have to find out what is this payment, where it has been made, to whom it has been made, for what purpose it has been made, who sanctioned it, who approved it,” Shirke said the website.
