CSK-and-RRThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not invite Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), as their four-member working group met for the first time on Monday to study the Lodha Committee report.

“As of now, we are not inviting them. We are not going to take any decision that might send a wrong signal. The BCCI will not take any risk by inviting them. As of now we are trying to tackle the situation that has come up due to the teams in question,” a working group member told.

IPL governing council chairman, Rajeev Shukla who is also heading the working group, said post the meeting that the sponsors were behind them.

“We have started meeting all the stakeholders from today. Today the representatives of Yes Bank came and met the members of the working group. Yes Bank is one of our sponsors. Similarly we will meet other sponsors and also speak to them about how to make IPL 9 a success,” Shukla said.

Sourav Ganguly, Anurag Thakur, Aniruddh Chaudhary and Usha Nath Banerjee met on Monday in the national capital in the meeting, that will take place through the course of four days to draw a roadmap for next year’s IPL.

The four-member working group was constitued after Justice Lodha committee suspended the owners of CSK, RR – Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra, while banning the franchises for two years last month in a landmark verdict.

The Board has given the committee six weeks’ time to draw up a roadmap for IPL 9.
