The Delhi BJP led by Satish Upadhyay on Friday launched a massive protest against the Arvind Kejriwal government over its failure to resolve the power and water crisis in the national capital.

According to reports, all 14 district units of the BJP are staging demonstrations and holding dharnas to force the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and local legislators to address power and water woes of people.

Attacking the AAP government in Delhi on electricity and water crisis, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay had last week said that the Arvind Kejriwal government was evading responsibilities and did no work on the Summer Action Plan for water and power supply.

Upadhyay alleged that the AAP government, which promised 50 percent reduction in power tariff for all, free water, Wi-fi and corruption free administration, had withdrawn the power subsidy to consumers in the capital. “Now the subsidy benefit is restricted to hardly 30 percent of the consumers,” he said.

As for free water, nobody in the capital knew who was getting free water because even by the government’s own figures, in a city of around 2 crore people, hardly 10.5 lakh consumers were being benefited, he said.
