Burglars cleaned up a flat of an elderly couple away for pilgrimage, of valuables worth Rs 57.63 lakh in Santacruz, police said.
The incident occurred between last Saturday and Sunday when Ramesh Kumar Jain (67), a resident of Santacruz (west) was away to Dhule along with his family members.
When he returned home on Sunday night, Jain found the door of his bedroom broken and valuable like jewellery, coins and watches, woth Rs. 57.63 lakh, missing, police stated in a statement.
Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons and are looking for them.
