The 39-year-old presenter and husband Patrick Kielty, 45, welcomed their first child – whose name hasn’t been revealed – into the world two months ago and are enjoying every second of parenthood.
Cat said: “I’m besotted with the baby and really enjoying motherhood.”
The ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ presenter isn’t taking much maternity leave and is excited about getting back to work.
She said: “I’m back filming in the studio tomorrow and I can’t wait.
“I always wanted to go straight back to work because I love it so much.
“I think it is possible to strike a balance between work and home life, so I’ll see how it goes.”
Cat is already looking back in good shape, which she credits to breastfeeding and maintaining an active lifestyle, though she admits she’ll have to hit the gym at some point.
She told Closer magazine: “People keep asking me if I’ve been to the gym but I haven’t.
“I think breastfeeding is key and it’s worked well for me.
“Add that to running around after a new baby and you don’t need to work out.
“I do want to go back to the gym next week though because there are still areas I’d like to tone up.
“I was never much of a gym bunny – I used to hike a lot and do yoga. It’s important to keep moving.”
