Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday advocated cordial Centre-state relations for the progress of the nation.

Addressing a function after inaugurating a food park here, PM Modi said, “We’ve to understand the feelings of the states and we’ve to work together to implement schemes.”

“When states become stronger, the nation will become stronger; when states progress, the nation will progress,” he added.

He sought to highlight the fact that there have been situations when some states have felt like being discriminated against.

“A country can’t run like this. They (Centre and states) have to work as a team,” the PM said.

“Prime Minister and Chief Ministers can be from different parties, but the country is one,” he said further.

The PM also said that farmers need to be provided with better infrastructure, right markets, proper warehousing and cold storage in order to help them to make progress.
