The party is trying to revive itself by inducting young leaders like Amit who can play a decisive role in the campaigning activities.
Amit Thackeray will be holding road show in Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Nashik to attract voters. He is a commerce graduate from Ruparel college. Thus, both MNS and Sena are trying to groom next generation leaders to take the party forward. Amit is likely to challenge Aaditya who already is busy preparing for the civic body polls. Aaditya already is Sena’s star campaigner for election. Two years back Raj Thackeray had said that his son Amit will make an entry into politics at the right time. When media had asked him about launching his son he had replied that, “Amit is not a rocket to be launched with a countdown.”
According to sources, “Amit is likely to play a key role in campaigning for MNS in the BMC election. Through his induction more youths will start connecting with the party. He will also interact with the youth and try to understand the issues faced by them.”
“Amit will be strategically involved in taking vital decision to develop the party. He will plan various strategies to strengthen the party ahead of civic body polls. Right now, he is learning about the nitty gritties about functioning of the party. MNS can groom him as a gen-next leader who can run the party in future,” said another source.
MNS leader Shirish Sawant said, “Amit Thackeray’s campaigning will make a vital difference to MNS and rejuvenate the party. After Rajsaheb he will be the party’s star campaigner. Time has come for our party to groom more youth leaders and plan for the future.”
Earlier Amit had campaigned for MNS during the 2014 state assembly polls but he failed to make any impact.
