Just a day after the Indian railways cooked up a remedy to solve the problem of spurious food items served in trains, passengers of Delhi to Howrah Rajdhani Express were treated with cockroaches and worms in their food palette.

Around two passengers were taken ill after eating the worm laced food. Enraged commuters stopped the train at Mughalsarai junction and protested against the railway administration.

Meanwhile, the railways have increased the fine of Rs. 5,000 against the IRCTC caterers for providing stale food to Rs. 1 lakh. This punishment might aggravate to lifetime suspension of the vendors on board. This scheme is likely to begin from September 1, this year.
