Much to her horror, Lucknow resident Tanisha Rai Singhania was open-mouthed when she saw a territory of worms floating in the Complan energy drink.
The food supplement or the ‘complete planned food’ as the makers say seems to have landed in trouble after this discovery.
Narrating the trauma she and her family members went through, Tanisha, a resident of Mahanagar, said, “It was on Saturday morning that I opened the Complan packet and added few spoons of the food supplement in milk. However, as soon as I stirred the food drink, I was amazed to see virtually a can of white worms and some dead insects floating on the surface.”
The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) on Saturday sent a sample of Complan for testing after her husband Darshan Singhania filed a complaint.
Authorities also issued a notice to the manufacturer of Complan for selling a “poor quality product”.
