In what is likely to further embarrass Bihar’s ruling Janata Dal (U), its leader and state’s Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has now courted another controversy by questioning the morality of those women whose husbands have been working outside the state for several years.
Asking youth of the state not to go outside Bihar leaving behind their wives at home, Manjhi said you never know what your wife does behind you if you leave the state for finding work, a report said.
“If you go and work outside the state, how would you know what your wife is doing in your absence?” Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi asked the Bihari migrants.
CM Manjhi is known for making such controversial statements. Just a day ago, he stirred a controversy when he termed upper caste people as “foreigners and descendants of Aryan race”.
The remark has earned BJP’s flak and the party slammed him for “stoking caste tension” in the state.
Reportedly, several JD(U) leaders have also criticised the CM for his remarks saying that as a CM he must avoid such controversial statements.
