While US Presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s remarks on illegalimmigration might have shocked many and forced even Republicans to distance themselves from his “offensive” comments, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin continued to stand by him.
Palin, herself a former Vice Presidential hopeful, went on to praise Donald Trump’s extreme immigration policy of repealing the birthright citizenship and the 14th amendment, saying it put “America first”.
Speaking to the host Greta Van Susteren on Fox News’ “On the Record” show, Palin said, “when we incentivize people to come on over with any avenue, it sends the wrong message to illegals”.
“He is the best thing to happen to the political class since the beauty of the Tea Party genuine movement rose up and shined light on crony capitalism and pulled the rug right out from under status quo politicians who just kind of embrace that permanent political class,” Palin added.
It is not the first time, Sarah Palin has supported the Republican frontrunner for the White House.
She has been a staunch supporter of Trump and talking to the same Fox News host Greta Van Susteren in 2011, she had backed him even on the issue of questioning of the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.
