In a heinous incident, a 38-year-old farmer allegedly assaulted his wife and then forced her to drink urine in front of their two kids over a petty issue.
The incident was reported from Shimbrur village in Khandwa. Killod police station staff arrested Gokul Balayi later.
A habitual drinker, Gokul returned to his house late at night and then asked his wife who was sleeping to get up and cook dinner for him. She refused to do so. Angered by her refusal, Gokul first beat her brutally and then forced her to drink his urine from an empty liquor bottle in front of their 14-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter.
On Tuesday morning, Gokul’s wife narrated the episode to her brother Ram Das, who lives in Chipabad area of adjacent Harda district. The matter was subsequently reported by Ram Das and his sister at Khandwa’s Killod police station the same day.
“Gokul has been arrested and booked under sections 294, 323, 506 and 498A of IPC and further investigations are underway,” Killod police station in charge Jaisingh Suliya said.
