Former Aam Aadmi Party MLA Vinod Kumar Binny joined the BJP, ahead of the Assembly polls in Delhi.

“Had joined AAP but, at the time, didn’t know all that was mere drama. AAP is responsible for emotional blackmailing. They use people… I thank the BJP for giving me this honour,” said Mr. Binny.

Mr. Binny had met Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay, triggering speculations that he may join the party.

“Binny has been actively involved. He was part of Anna’s (Hazare) andolan. Binny was the first to raise voice against the undemocratic way in which AAP functioned,” said Mr. Upadhyay.

Mr. Binny, a former MLA from Laxmi Nagar, had quit the Aam Aadmi Party last year.

Delhi goes to polls on February 7; votes will be counted on February 10.
