‘Game Of Thrones’ star Hafor Julius Bjornsson is World’s Strongest Man

Hafor Julius Bjornsson AV“Game of Thrones” star Hafor Julius Bjornsson, who plays Gregor Clegane/The Mountain on the epic fantasy show, has been named the strongest man in the world.

The 29-year-old actor shared the news with his fans on his Instagram account, announcing that he won the title for World’s Strongest Man in the annual competition held in Philippines.

“The world’s strongest man 2018! Want to thank all of my family, friends and fans for supporting me along the way. Special thanks to my coach @australianstrengthcoach and my nutritionist @stanefferding.

“Also want to thank my sponsors, @kjotkompani @sbdapparel @roguefitness. Congratulations to @kieliszkowskimateusz and @shawstrength for their second and third finishes!” Bjornsson wrote.

The Icelandic giant, who stands at 6ft 9in and weighs 200kg, came second in the competition each of the past two years. He has set strongman records before, including recently deadlifting more than 1,000 pounds.

During the competition, he faced a series of challenges including pulling a bus, carrying massive anvils and deadlifting a car.
