A young girl jumped from the second floor of a building, allegedly to escape rape. She is a resident of Liluah in Howrah.
The incident occurred at Payerabagan area in Liluah on Sunday, he said.
The woman and two youths hailing from Rishra in Hooghly district had come to the house of a male friend residing at Payerabagan on Sunday evening, the official said.
The girl has sustained grave injuries on her head and face, and has been admitted to the Howrah General Hospital. She has complained that she was chatting with a few friends Sunday evening when she was drugged. The drink that she was given by her friends was laced with intoxicants.
The youths allegedly got drunk and tried to induce the woman into drinking, the official said.
Suspecting foul play, the woman jumped from the roof of the house to evade assault, the official said, adding she sustained injuries on her head and was rushed to a local hospital by the youths.
She was later released after first aid.
The police have lodged an FIR with Liluah police station and arrested the three youths who would be produced in court later.
The three accused namely Nonto Bose, Samir Nayak and Chotan have been booked with charges of molestation.
All the three accused on Monday produced before the court.
