Goa CM occupies 2 official houses, violates his own government’s austerity drive

Not practicing his own preaching, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar courted a controversy by allegedly violating his own government’s austerity drive.

Claiming that he needs a separate bungalow for chairing public and official meetings, the Goa CM has decided to have more than one official residence. He converted his official bungalow, Mahalaxmi, into a camp office.

Orders have been issued by the General Administration Department of the state to renovate the place. Rs 50 lakh has been sanctioned for the same.

The allotment order has been signed by Under Secretary Prashant Shirodkar. Shirodkar is out on bail after being earlier arrested in connection with a building collapse case.
