sports-fifa2014 FIFA World Cup winners Germany landed in Berlin on Tuesday as thousands of fans were seen gathered to receive the national team at the capital’s Tegel airport. The champions will be heading towards the Brandenburg gate for a grand welcome party.

The players were seen lining up in the airport with the trophy as skipper Phillipe Lahm leading the way.

A 30-metre ramp has been put up in Berlin to allow fans to interact with players. Around one million fans are expected to attend the party at the Brandenburg gate.

The triumphant side will appear on a stage in front of the Brandenburg Gate.

It is an extraordinary moment for everybody. It is also the coming together of East and West Germany.

The team will be parading on a black open-top bus featuring the dates of Germany’s four World Cup trophies — 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014. Large screens have been put up which will be showing every movement. The organisers have come up with a very beautiful reception plan.

Many people were seen waving flags and wearing black-red-gold garlands and have been waiting for long hours. The fans had started converging towards the specially-designated Fan Mile area since early hours of the morning.

It is the first time United Germany is bringing a title home. Therefore the mood amongst the fans and every German is something that portrays a passionate feeling.

People are really excited to see the 22-year old Mario Goetze who scored the winning goal against Argentina on Sunday. Germany won the World Cup after a period of 24 years and it was their first win on South American soil.

Meanwhile Germany’s Mesut Ozil expressed that it was an unbelievable crowd in Berlin. The Arsenal forward posted a photo through his personal account on micro-blogging site Twitter.
