Gandhinagar-based Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS) experts on Monday submitted a detailed report of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s deceased wife Sunanda Pushkar’s cellphone records to the Delhi Police.

Speaking to ANI, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said, “Evidence which has come to light after forensic examination of equipment is being analyzed.”

“One week back we had received these equipments and reports, now we are analyzing the data. Have retrieved some deleted evidence from blackberry, twitter etc, will see if there was any intentional deletion of texts” he added.

After Tharoor was questioned in January by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with Sunanda’s death, the Delhi Police had handed over her laptop and four mobile phones to DFS for further analysis.

Sunanda, 52, was found dead in her suite at Leela Palace hotel in Delhi on January 17, 2014, a day after she was involved in a spat with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar on micro-blogging website Twitter over the latter’s alleged affair with Tharoor.

According to police, Mehr Tarar is also likely to be questioned over the murder of Sunanda Pushkar. Tarar has, however, refused to come to India to join the probe but was willing to cooperate.

The Delhi Police chief had earlier said that the Special Investigating Team may question Shashi Tharoor for the third time, if required.
